During the time we spent together, I discovered a plethora of information about myself and my skills and abilities. Having to spend time thinking about my life''s achievements then assessing the skills learned from these experiences, was in-it-of- itself one of the most invaluable lessons I have ever learned. I jokingly refer to it as my "professional excavation." Making a career change in mid life has proven much more difficult than I had envisioned. Your help, sensible advice, and wonderful sense of humour kept me from giving up.
I came to Chandler Hill Partners believing it to be an employment agency. I soon discovered that it is so much more than that. It is in fact a cleverly disguised vehicle for deep change -both at a professional and personal level. This experience has also served to enhance my education. Given my educational and professional background, I have learned new techniques that I can and will use in the workplace. Amusingly enough, I find myself using these techniques to "coach" a very dear friend in his search for a new position. It''s been a lot of fun. Now I know why you smile so much.
On July 30, I began a new position in my field of interest, nonprofit organizations. While it is not my ideal job, it is in fact a wonderful opportunity to establish a network of contacts and set me on the right path to achieve my final outcome -to become a Chief Executive Officer of a nonprofit.
Our sessions together have been a wonderful experience and I look forward to our continued relationship.
